Originally hailing from Natchez, MS, Demetrius Morgan graduated from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Minor in Business Administration in 2014. During his collegiate years, he became a Fall 2011 initiate of the Lambda Pi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc., where he cultivated leadership skills, serving as President - Polemarch, and engaged with the community through the chapter’s community service initiatives.

Demetrius's professional journey commenced in Memphis, TN, at Northwestern Mutual, where he embarked as an intern. Northwestern Mutual is a full-service financial planning corporation that includes solutions such as Insurance and Estate Planning, Retirement, and Wealth Management.

Progressing swiftly after achieving several high-performance goals, he ascended to a full-time Financial Representative and College Unit Captain, assuming a pivotal role as the second-in-command of the intern program. He was also chosen for the LeadOne program, tailored for emerging leaders within the organization.

In March of 2016, Demetrius transitioned to banking beginning at Regions Bank as a Financial Relationship Consultant, leveraging his expertise to aid clients with banking products, loan origination, and financial counsel. He transferred his role to Houston in July of 2017 where he actively served in an Assistance Branch Manager capacity for his branch.

Come August 2020, Demetrius seized an opportunity with Allegiance Bank (now Stellar Bank) as an SBA Underwriter, meticulously assessing SBA 7(a) loan applications and furnishing comprehensive analysis to guide lending decisions. His unwavering commitment to volunteerism further underscored his dedication to community engagement.

In December 2023, Demetrius was bestowed with a promotion to CRA Community Development Officer, where he focuses on spearheading financial literacy initiatives and offering insights into affordable housing and community development for the bank. He holds a strong passion for community engagement and is deeply interested in learning more about how he can contribute to the improvement of communities. Demetrius is particularly focused on delving into the intricacies of CDCs, nonprofit organizations, and the broader scope of the CRA industry.
